For me it was 1 and 2 because it showed from what he came from and all that ****...He was bum who got a shot..3 and 4 and 5 hes already paid...

I liked Rocky Balboa the best(the last one). I thought the acting was excellent, I also loved how they made it seem like a real fight and thought it was an excellent way to end the series.

I don't like any of them. They increased the popularity of the sport in a lot of ways but they don't give a realistic portrayal of the sport.

I have the anthology and am working through it at the moment. Like each one for different reasons but would probably say Rocky 4 sticks out. Just the way he's fighting back for revenge for Drago killing his idol and friend is a pretty cool journey in the film.

Watching 3 this week though so I might change my mind. All great films imo, even 5 plays a part in the story and 6 was ok too.

The first one is BY FAR the most impressive cinematic achievement. Rocky 4 is jingoistic garbage. The plot is simplistic and ridiculous. Actually, after the second one, all of them are simplistic and ridiculous.

3 is an insult with that over-the-top Clubber Lang character, Hogan is another joke. 4 is pretty much your run-of-the mill action movie except with a capitalism vs. communism, the American underdog vs. the Russian juggernaut, and guess what, the American wins the hearts of the people! Yay for the U.S.! 5, no need to explain why it ******, and 6 is a series of terrible flashbacks, allusions, and references to the first film.

2 is good but not great, and the first one is simply one of the best American movies ever made.
