I really dont understand it, Have been listed as hating joe C when i have never written a single word in critising him, He is one of my favourite fighters because of his boxing skills, I have picked him to beat every single opponent on this forum, All i have ever said was he isnt an ATG yet....and if that makes me a hater then so be it.

First of all he doesn't slap,He still hits hard but just play's it safe and doesn't hit as hard as he used to due to the brittle hands he breaks in practically every fight.

regardless its an ugly style. ruiz has an ugly style and we hate it too. hopkins' hold-n-hit & potshot style was equally reviled. in other words, calzaghe isn't being singled out for his slaps.

Sceondly yes he has fought most of his career in he UK but whats wrong with that? I mean it seems perfectly ok for americans to fight most of theyre careers on home soil so this is an obvious and clear example of double standards!

its not a double standard because we in the US are just as critical of protected boxers from the US. the true double standard is that we don't try and make something of them that they aren't. Nobody is calling berto p4p #1 except his nuthuggers. everyone knows the best compete in the US. plain and simple.

Last but not least he hasn't avoided great fighters,The fact is that were in the wrong weight divisions and they declined when an offer was made to them due to big ego's and money.

if calz really wanted the fights he would've humbled himself and made the fights to secure for himself future greatness. Calzaghe was the odd man out because he was protected by Warren and unknown in the US.

There's no need for this to be a race issue.I do agree that if he was American he definately wouldn't be on receiving end of all the undeserved hate.In fact if he was American he would be held in a higher regard and have his ass kissed every second of the day!

Good post ! I couldn't agree more ! Another point I would add why did Calslappy come here to fight a past his prime Hopkins and RJJ now ! I heard him say he wanted to show America Calslappy ! Why didn't he do this when they were in their prime ?
