Why Not Kessler Vs Hopkins in 09' ?????

Kessler vs Hopkins in 09' makes sense to me!!
The chances of a rematch for B-Hop with RJJ are slim...most of us know that Joe Calzaghe will win a UD and Roy has said he wouldin't fight Bernard again anyway so thats that.
If Hopkins was to come out swinging like he did against Pavlik and Kessler was to do the same, this would be an explosive fight, and win or lose for Kessler if he was to put up a good fight against Hopkins (on a good hopkins night LOL!!) he would be an instant star in the US IMO.
    What are your thoughts everybody!!??
    GO KING KESSLER!!!!

I would quite like to see it.

I think the chances of it happening are very slim though.

If it were to happen i think Hopkins would win a decision.

Very possible there but Kessler wouldint die wondering...I think Kessler would get this.
Hopkins impressed me that night but had Kelly been himself it could have been a different story.
This fight could be an epic...Kessler should do it for nothing...the US exposure win or lose (as long as he was competetive) would be worth millions.
But yes you are right...slim chance of it happening...Hopkins isint going to risk another big hitter and IMO he know Kessler would be more competetive the Pavlik was...but hey there would be a belt on the line if nothing else...

I didn't make it time for the first response!

Really though, this sounds like a terrific matchup whether the Dawson matchup can be made or not.

In reality, this one should come first, because Dawson is still young, and every day that passes is one more day past Hopkins's prime.

I'd love to see it, but... idk, I would have a fairly bad feeling about it, being a Kessler fan. Hopkins really does have the perfect style to disrupt what works for a given fighter.

It's a good matchup but I'm not sure if Kessler's camp wants to take the risk, Kessler wouldn't have nearly as much to lose as Pavlik did though.

Kessler camp wants not part of Bhop. Bhop wins by ud if not late stoppage. Kessler is differently in my opinion better then Pavlik but he shows signs that he can be stopped if you land body shots... Joe almost stopped him and joes hands have been broken for years.

Pavlik couldn't be himself because Hopkins wouldn't let him, Pavlik's jab and right hand were taken from him and once Hopkins took them away he had nothing.

I feel Kessler's style is too simple to really trouble Hopkins.

It would be more competitive than the Pavlik fight though.

I disagree on the Pavlik comment...I knew 30 seconds in that he was going to lose...there was something wrong...something not right and im not saying it cause I cant stand Hopkins and I like Pavlik...but hell who knows...to me he didint look right but props to Hops

Pavlik apparently did have a pretty bad case of bronchitis. Lengthy article but a good one from Thomas Hauser, covers some behind the scenes stuff before and after the fight.

I disagree...but we can speculate all we want...lets hope it happens...I think you will be as intrigued as anyone...Kessler has a fighters chance...im not taking anything away from the Pavlik performance or blowing Pavliks horn but anyone who thinks Pavlik wasint himself that night is dellusional.
Kessler already has a loss to a great fighter anyway...whats another??? If Joe Calzaghe was american and loved by americans and the fight between Kessler and him was in vegas...Kessler would have all the respect in the world from a lot of american fans. Hes a warrior. simply put. VIKING WARRIOR!!!
