Attn Biased Nuthuggers- about Roy Jones Jr : HE IS SHOT

It depends imo, on what the old guy has left obviously. A win over Hopkins deserves credit, he was coming off 2 wins, and then dominated another top ranked fighter after Calzaghe. But Jones hasn't beat a top LHW for a long time now, so Joe gets no credit for this win really.Comment

Also if Roy wins, it won't change anything. My point about him being shot BASED ON CURRENT INFO will still stand.
You have to make the smart prediction here. Not based on your heart.
BTW, I think Prime Roy humiliates Joe. And I mean badly.Comment

roy jones is not shot at all. in fact he's prob better now then when he was in his prime. he has also improved his glass jaw by doing chin ups! when calzaghe beats him and retires undefeated there will be a strong argument for greatest of all time.Comment

bsrizpac you ****! Jones is "washed up".He was only "shot" during the Johnson and Tarver fights. It is funny that a self-proclaimed boxing expert can't tell the subtle difference....

“I have no interest any more in Roy Jones and no interest in Antonio Tarver. Jones is washed up and Tarver was never that good anyway. He just caught Jones when Jones was shot and Johnson did the same.”
from 'No Average Joe' by Mr Joe Calzaghe

Listen, I hate Calzaghe as much as you (maybe more, actually) but this thread is just done to ensure you can bump it and slate the result of the fight, whatever it may be. If Slappy wins, RJJ was shot. If RJJ, Slappy lost to someone who was shot.
Personally, I give RJJ a, er, shot. Really. I've been re-watching his last 3 fights, and it's given me cause for optimism, more so than I've had prior to watching them.
I will make a thread later about this very thing.Comment
