As I said, you can disect prety much any great fighters resume and twist it to make them sound ****ty.

It holds more value than yours because, unlike you and the thread starter, I have watched all of the fights mentioned and was following Calzaghe's career at the time, so I know the background information and how the guys involved performed.

Not long ago you were saying "Who the hell is Robin Reid?" and talking as if you hadn't seen many Chris Eubank fights. I have seen many Eubank fights and about 10 Robin Reid fights over the past 10-11 years.

Like I've said before, I don't consider Calzaghe an ATG, but I argue that viewpoint from a position of knowledge, not from the position of someone who has only seen a few of his fights and who has copied and pasted the post from another forum like the thread starter has.

Most of the guys on here started watching only a few years ago.

Not a bad thing, especially if you're a student of the game. It's a bad thing when you start spouting stuff you don't know about or base your rankings on your powerful knowledge beginning in 2001.

He's not an ATG becuase he was unfortunate enough to be in a weak division but he's the best SMW of his generation and one hell of a fighter.

There are many fighters out there who aren't ATG not because they aren't capable but because they never had anyone worthy of facing them to push them that extra level.

I like Joe but the long ass biased 23 point breakdown is uneccessary.

On one hand he has had a run at SMW 2nd to none.

On the other hand he hasnt beaten anyone great. (old Hopkins maybe, but he was already a favourite).

He is knocking on the door of being an ATG, but at this point is only a modern great. IMO

Agreed. The problem is when people pretend they should be ATG's anyway because of some "fantasy" wins they created in their head. "Oh, he would win anyway had they fought!" Sure kid, sure.

My point is that you can do this to any fighter you want, go through and discredit every win you want to. Do you understand this notion?
