Im not sure, I dont like Mayweather trianing Hatton. His style isnt for everyone. Hatton fights the way he does because he has to. At 5′ 7 with a reach of 65“, he is always at a reach disadvantage. Mayweather might throw Ricky way off, kinda like he di DLH. I hope he gets the time he needs to adjust.

and i think his record historically after hand surgery is good...whenever paulie has come back from a hand fracture/break/injury he's put on some of the best performances...he tends (for some odd reason) to use them more aggressively...

so i dont think that will be an issue...infact i think ricky killing himself to come down in weight from the booze and junk rood will be the story here...hatton has been doing this for a long time but in a tune-up fight v. lazcano it really showed his age...

      AGAINST LAZCANO...

in my opinion its safe to say ricky's best days are behind him...

and i fully believe paulie will capitalize on that...being quick/sly, sticking and moving, and being aggressive in short bursts will win him this fight via a close split decision (i see it being either 7 rounds to 5 rounds or possibly 8 rounds to 4 rounds for malignaggi).

granted paulie looked horrible in his "tune-up"/"rematch" fight with ndou but he fractured his hands during that fight and was still able to walk away with the win...before the fracture i had him comfortably ahead...

paulie's hands are breaking down but physically he's in his prime as a boxer...he gave cotto a good tough fight...didnt get stopped even with the broken facial bones...and he ABSOLUTELY outclassed ndou in their first fight...

in the first ndou fight we've seen what paulie can do at his full potential...he can outbox you...he has great speed (enough so that he put ndou on the ground with that speed)...and he showed how to use his good defense and boxing technique along with standing in the pocket and trading punch for punch.

hatton is slowing down...his punches are wide and looping (we seen this VERY clearly against mayweather)...he applies pressure but not effectively...his chin is starting to go...

i see this all being things paulie will capitalize on (with the exception of the chin...he simply doesnt have KO type strength in this punches)...

he's going to stick and move on hatton...beating his long/wide looping blows to the punch...he's going to be sly making hatton miss and chase him...wearing him down...mixing it up in short moments to pick up points...by the end of the 9th round i see hatton tired out and paulie closing the gap and winning a split decision in the end.
very good analysis, although i think with FM as rickys new trainer ricky will put on a good performance and outhustle paulie, taking a SD with effective aggression and pressure on the inside

however, you are right, rickys chin is starting to go, he gets cut pretty easy, and his lifestyle is catching up to him......i still think he wins, but im not entirely confident...and wouldnt be suprised at all if his lifestyle has finally ruined him as a fighter

and ricky barely got past lazcano
judge: Marcus McDonnell 120-110 | judge: Pat Russell 118-110 | judge: Phil Austin 120-108 ~

Doesn't look barely to me, looks like Lazcano got his ass whooped to me.

Maggi however did barely get past N'dou.

Basing my prediction on their recent fights I am going to go with Pauli via a close decision.

Ricky has shown signs of slowing down and his punch resistance is nothing like it was a few years ago. Pauli hasn't exactly set the world alight but he has shown to have good boxing ability and speed which I see him using to pick up the close rounds.

I'd love to see Ricky return to the level of intensity he had before the Tszyu fight and work the body much more than he has been doing in his last few fights. If he is able to do that then maybe he can stop Pauli late. Its definately going to be interesting to see how Floyd snr has managed to implement his ideas with Hatton.

Paulie is capable of outboxing Hatton (and quite easily) but the problem is that Paulie doesnt have the sufficient power to keep Hatton off of him. I see Hatton making this a BORING and ugly fight, he will rush in carelessly with his hands down eating a jab or two on the way in to grab Paulie and try to rough house him. We'll see plenty of illegal tactics (aka Hattons "gameplan") of holding and hitting.

                  Let's do it.

I get all of your points if Hatton loses.

You get 15k if Hatton wins.

                  Deal?

It's an interesting clash of styles but I'd be very surprised if Hatton doesn't take a wide UD against Malignaggi or even stop him.
