I think because the damage Calzaghe's punches do has literally 0 to do with how much damage Hopkins's punches do to Calzaghe, which is the important factor in determining a KO for Hopkins over Calzaghe.

Calzaghe doesn't throw many hard punches, but he can hit when he decides to. In fact he can really hit - but he prefers his pitty patty style to win fights in his older injury prone days.
