"Calzaghe only slapped against Hopkins"

He dropped his head because Calzaghe was throwing a left. He then raised his head as he attempted to counter punch. I think it's a case of Calzaghe's head being in the wrong place at the wrong time and Hopkins took advantage of it since he had to raise his head at the moment.

Hopkins is awfully slick, I'm just not 100% convinced it was at all an accident. It wasn't blatant, but I can't help believing Bernard was just doing his rough-house thing. Anyway, no blood, no foul, as they say...nobody got cut, so it's not important right now, I think.

I may have been intentional, I'm not denying that. It wasn't intentional in the sense that he went out of his way to do it....it was part of the normal flow of action and probably not penalty worthy. Calzaghe stuck his chin out above his head and Hopkins probably said to himself "I have to raise my head to throw a counter and if Calzaghe is going to be there then great, I'm taking advantage."

A little head clash? Hopkins ducking down and thrusting his head upwards into Joe's chin is a little clash? The right hand was nice, just like Holt's on Torres.

imo hopkins was winning so easy he didn't even try. ****** move but makes sense i mean calzaghe wasn't hitting him but hopkins didn't know the judges thought he was. he won the first 6 rounds easily and coasted. little did he know the judges wanted to keep the fight close like they always do. to say he was tired is untrue just cause he clinched. that't not a sign of being tired it was a strategy. also look at who was tired in the corner it wasn't hopkins it was calzaghe truth hurts.

People need to rewatch that fight before they rewrite history. Hopkins could not cope with Calzaghe and looked badly faded by R8. He was trying every trick in the book to take a breather and slow the fight down.
