like most people said, between second and third

i don't have the time, resources or patience to get that deep on old boxing (pre-70s) but i live and breathe current boxing and am far from a fairweather fan when it comes to supporting individual athletes

I watch pretty much everything boxing. Im not really big on brushing up on history before my time, I know the big names and the main things they did but no details. The only problem I have with UFC is them trying to prove that they are somehow taking over/dominating boxing, other then that I guess I am a casual UFC fan.

I don't know the whole history of the sport, i wont give you a boxing lesson for ten minutes before i answer your a question. I don't watch EVERY SINGLE televised card, I am not going to watch dlh vs pac, put on your number 2.

Watching the present also makes me go back to some of the past to figure certain things out but not back to the black and white days. I also watch mostly from 168lbs and under to be honest. I mean, I'll watch the heavies but they bore the **** outta me in their current state. I can say that Wlad is the best right now although with Vitali back it could be debatable but that's all I prefer to talk about with heavies. I pretty much follow the elites of every weight class 168lbs and down and keep an eye for upcoming prospects. I also am the type that'll rewatch a fight a million times to fully analyze it from everything from a physical and mental standpoint on the fight. People like us that do these certain things should really be good at betting real $$$ because we know the insides and outs if we read about how these boxers training camps are going. Too bad I know boxing all too well to also know that anything can happen.
i'm the opposite for some reason. i like watching old fights better than the new ones.

I like watching the old fights, back to a certain point, but when I can't see what landed because the video is so bad, I can only watch it once, maybe twice...well, maybe a few times, but no more than 5...or 6.

Fun thread. Goin by the TS outline, I'm somewhere between the 2nd and 3rd fan type. Boxing is the only thing I ever watch on TV, I've been a fan all my life, and I really get into the fights. However, I'm sick to death of fans bitchin about the PPV buy rates as if they were the promoter or network that has a stake in it. I obviously wanna see my favorite fighters and other fighters I respect get nice paydays, but the over-analysis of drawin power and fanbase type **** drives me nuts. I just love the sweet science.
