Obviously, neither guy is.

Cotto fought hard but had nothing left. He had the fight beaten out of him by Margarito. He was defeated mentally and physically.

As far as Mayweather "avoiding" or "ducking" Margarito, he turned down a lot of money for the fight and got the same amount fighting another guy (Baldomir) for a more prestigious belt, and away from Bob Arum.

Boxing history is filled with fighters, often great fighters, doing the risk/reward thing in certain situations.

It's nothing new, but since people are so ****ty with their boxing knowledge, they think it's something new and go "oh my god, did you see how scared he is because he didn't fight Margarito?"

That being said, it doesn't do Mayweather's all-time standing that good by having a win over Baldomir instead of Margarito, linear or not. Anyone with eyes can see that Tony is the superior fighter.
