Just watched Adrian Diaconu for the first time

I've obviously heard of Diaconu before, but I never got around to watching him until today.

I'm not sure how good he's going to be or who he can beat, but I really like the way he fights. He short for a 175lb guy (only 5'9) and as a result he tries to find a way inside early and then explodes with powerful hooks.

Here he is destroying Rico Hoye. The quality isn't good but it gets the job done:

    Against a 19-6 guy:

Obviously Dawson is quite a bit taller at 6'3 and the size difference may be a bit much to overcome, but I think their fight would've been very entertaining nonetheless. It's a shame it didn't happen but hopefully somewhere down the line we might see it.

The guys a menace. He's like a bigger more active Abraham, meets Johnson.

A Dawson pre Johnson I'd give Diaconu a good shot, as for now not so sure and he's getting better. Would be good to see how he handles someone as tall as Chad.

He's a good fighter, he looks really OLD for a 30 year old fighter. I'd still pick Dawson to beat him, he's less active than Johnson and stays outside then jumps in to land hooks. I think Dawson could keep him at the end of his jab.

I like diacanu he has a totally different style to dawson which would make a great fight, He can get inside dawson with his style and its a fight i cant really pick a winner.

I'm not high on him at all. He's entertaining but he's painfully slow and wide with everything he does. Against a Rico Hoye he will always shine but the Henry fight was not conclusive enough for me and that's not a good sign.

Diaconu is really entertaining. He has great power and a goo chin. The only problem I see is his stamina (look at his fight against Chris Henry...). I think he could give Dawson problems, but would be outboxed. His only hope is to surprise Dawson with a massive hit.

He's very entertaining but Dawson would murder him if they fight.

He should be able to defeat an ancient Silvio Branco in impressive fashion and win the WBC LHW title.

Diaconu vs Glen Johnson could turn out to be a very good fight.

I don't think he has much of a chance against Dawson though.

I think if Johnson can still put in a good performance he should be able to beat Diaconu
