I don't understand you guys. Sure he slaps when he flurries (and has since as far back as I remember) but when he sits on his shots...OUCH. He tagged Hops a few times and you could tell the old man didn't like it. And I get the feeling Calzaghe will be looking to sit on his punches a lot more in this fight.

Hops said none of his punches hurt, despite whatever you saw, and has never back tracked from this.
Yeah, but we're talking about Hopkins here, who, so far as he's concerned, has NEVER lost a fight (just ask him, or watch post-fight interviews), and wouldn't admit to being hurt by a punch from another fighter if his life depended on it. I wouldn't take his word about much, if anything.
Having said that, Calzaghe himself admitted that he didn't sit down on his punches in the Hopkins fight. Not sure why, don't even know if he gave a reason.

Hopkins concedes losing to Jones and rightfully so. Bad argument in trying to paint him as a complete liar.
The same calzaghe who looked like he was hurting Hopkins, Kessler, and Lacy at times in there fight? Calzaghe is very capable of stopping roy, and it would be a great way to retire if he did stop roy. And it would prove to the haters like you that his slaps do hurt.
Calzaghe sat on his punches against Hops a few times. Not sure why he'd say something as dilly as "I didn't sit on my punches" for no apparent reason except to excuse the fact that I fought the way I always fight but it just didn't work against the old man. Perhaps the fact that you could BARELY hit Hopkins had something to do with it?

Calzaghe never really hurt Hopkins, he caught him with a big straight left maybe ONCE in the fight but other than that Hopkins wasn't hurt. I still maintain that he won off activity but he never hurt B-hop really.

He caught him with several hard shots and Bernard didn't like it. I agree that Joe won mainly from being busy, wearing Hopkins down, and looking like he actually wanted to fight, though.
