If Pav was undefeated then that would have been ideal. but he isnt. so he may aswell retire. he cant fight someone with a lesser name than jones, whats the point??

    Dawson is a nobody.

If they had a rematch, it would take place in Wales. So it's pretty obvious that Hopkins would need a KD or 2 to actually win a decision. I see the rematch going pretty much the same as the first fight. I scored it a UD for Calzaghe anyways and so did a lot of this board.

I agree. I don't care what anyone says, I want to see another fight between those two. The first one was so close and after Hopkins impressive performance against the limited Pavlik, I think the second fight would be more exciting. Hopkins didn't seem to have stamina issues. I realize that the #1 factor could be the Welsh Dragon.

I just want to see that fight again. Too bad it will not likely happen.

Once RJJ beats him it'll be a rematch with RJJ ! But agree with everyone else Hopkins even though ! I would prefer a RJJ and Hopkins rematch once RJJ beats Calslappy and actually that would probably materialize more than a Calslappy vs Hopkins rematch !!

People weren't really calling for a Hopkins re match before. He was shot apparenly.

He proves he's not, but still only beats a one dimensional, limited non throwing MW, and suddenly loads of people think Hopkins something else all together and would win a re match.

Get over it, he lost and would lose even clearer next time, Calzaghe's a different kettle of fish to Pavlik, it's ****** to compare.

Pavlik was being thrusted down Joe's throat as the latest young prime champion whom would beat him, and not surprisingly as Lacy went from the new Tyson to crap over night, and Kessler a nobody, those were undermined.

Same would happen with Pavlik, and now he's been exposed by the guy Joe just beat. So it's amusing those cynics rather than say ok Calzaghe should retire, they go to the next guy most likely to beat him who is Dawson. He's the most logical but wasn't really on the radar before, doesn't bring much money and isn't a big draw, especially for a retirement fight. Joe's already LHW champion, is retiring later than planned as it is. Loads of guys in the past have retired with more possible big fights out there, it has to stop some time. Let it go.

If he beats Jones and it's close.. Hopkins, Jones, and Glen Johnson. Doesn't matter what order. If nothing else, he can't leave imv without making up for the Johnson blemish and not get flamed for it. It's a solid quacking there.
