Is it just me or does MMA suck!!

Well I was at a bar last night watching it, and the way the main event went down, everyone in the bar was booing or just not paying attention. I've always said it lacks a type of consistant action that boxing has. I mean you get your slugfest fights once in a blue moon in MMA, but that's just it. If I wanna see guys stand up and trade, I'll take boxing instead.

As if the 2 million folks that watched the biggest PPV ripoff between DLJoto vs Floyd weren't exactly happy either.

If Floyd and DLJoto decide to go at it again, I will guarantee you, that the PPV numbers will not even be close to what they did the first time around. That's because DLJoto and Floyd turned off the casual fan with their patty cake performance!

OH i know that also. That fight ****** and was a bad fight to get everyone's attention on calling it the world awaits. I talked about that already though. Anyways yeah, MMA last night blew ass.

I happen to like seeing people fighting, boxing, mma, kick boxing, muai thai, whatever. If there are people punching each other in the face i'm happy.

I don't get why some people think the 2 sports can't co-exist.

It's like some boxing fans feel threatened by the popularity it's getting. Boxing has and always will be my favorite sport. but like you, I appreciate watching most other contact sports. I love the guy above that replied he don't see the skill in the Jiu Jitsu side of mma. He would learn real quick what skill was involved if he dared to go to his local mma gym and give it a shot. I respect all who dare make a living in any combat sport.

the last few ufc cards were garbage the silva **** and the vera vs jardine both horrible cards. that with elite xc garbage didnt help. i agree its losing some of the hype.

He's not alone in this, MMA and UFC both suck. His description of them both are spot on, both men throw piss poor punches for a minute then roll around on the ground for the rest of the fight.

No you wont, not exactly. You can get some absolutely spectacular fights though, especially the ones with the young, well rounded guys who go toe to toe, grapple all over the matt, back to the feet, and so forth.
MMA is a great sport for me. This is a boxing forum though, and I dont see why we have to talk MMA here, let alone get together to diss MMA and its fighters.

well rounded my ass. they know a little bit of boxing(very little with those piss poor punches) and little bit of wrestling. which for some strange reason equals a MMA superstar

Some of them have been world class wrestlers, Judoka, Brazillian JiuJitsu players and kickboxers. Some of them are very good strikers.
You cant expect an MMA fighter to have the hands of a Pro Boxer, it would never happen for about a hundred different reasons, from more rounded training style and fighting style, to time dedication and coaching. You will never have an MMA fighter who can throw like a Roberto Duran.

It was a lackluster card, that happens in both sports.
And bro, MMA is about a lot more than trading, some of the best fighters in the sport NEVER engage in a slugfest. Yeah, if you want all standup striking, boxing is the way to go. MMA is fun because of its diversity, boxing is fun because of its purity. Both sports rock, fighting in general is awesome.
