Pacquiao vs De La Hoya and why it's good for Pacquiao

De la hoya has a very large fan base, even people who normally don't follow boxing know when he has a fight coming up.

If the whole world see's Pacquiao and the way he fights (which is very exciting) It's gonna bring a lot more boxing fans back into business.

If Pacquiao does the inevitable and beats De La Hoya (I give him a 30% chance to do so) or even knocks him out, that's gonna make him a huge draw. Everyone will know who Pacquiao is, the crazy jungle boy who throws hundreds of punches - all of them with bad intentions.

so it's not really all that bad, unless De La hoya knocks him out in the first 3 rounds..then all the noobs will think Pacquiao sucks..

Providing Pac doesn't get hurt yes it is a good fight for him. Not only is he getting the most significant pay packet of his career he ha nothing to lose legacy wise. Anything he achieves will be a bonus and when all is said and done he can just go back to 135 and still be one of the p4p best in the sport, or maybe even get more big fights with the likes of Hatton or Floyd. So yeah, overall a good scenario for Manny.

i'm not sure about a KO for Manny at this point, to be honest i'm not totally sure of a KO for Oscar ether, unless he catches Manny with something Massive (I think Pacman is a lot more elusive these days than Mayorga). Whatever it is, it will be noticable from round 1. I'm actually sort of pumped for this fight now because I really don't know what will happen.

This could be a great fight to help boxing if Oscar doesnt' simply overpower Manny and make it the mismatch many foresee. If Manny remains competitive with Oscar which I expect him to, I think it could be a very entertaining fight. I sorta invision the same Manny who fought Diaz movement and stamina wise except with more caution to not get caught by anything big. If he does fight that way, it's gonna be a very good fight and it will help boxing a lot. The most eyes are seen on boxing when Oscar fights, and now he has an opponent to bring the best out of boxing. I hope they can deliver on this one. Hell, even if Oscar carries Manny, it would be better than KOing him early on to make it a simple, yeah we knew that was gonna happen.
