I'm not upset no, I couldn't care less really.

Lacy was a good fighter, it wasn't the defeat, it was the manner of the defeat. 1 minute prior to the fight most of the boxing world had Lacy winning easily probably by KO.

The ATG tag is a personal thing, its not just because of the Lacy, Kessler and Hopkins wins its because of the 10 year + reign as a Super Middleweight Champion as well as good wins against some very good (perhaps not great fighters) however others fighters from other countries received adulation for fighting 'names' albeit past the prime or fighting way outside their weight category.

I am not a Calzaghe nuthugger in fact I have been critical in the past but credit where it is due.

Kessler looks like a good fighter.He hasn't fought anyone yet. We'll see.

Joe is a very good to great fighter. He is NOT an All time great.

If it is really necessary I can go and dig up posts where I have defended him. I have absolutely nothing against him or the Calzaghe fans who know the sport. It just seems like Joe, more than any other fighter, attracts these guys who have literally watched like a few fights and think they can come in here and argue with us.

Lacy, according to most "experts" and fans, was devastating. "The next Tyson" or "the mini Tyson" is what many people called him. Only 8 of 24 BoxingScene staff had Calzaghe winning. Calzaghe was sure to lose, according to the betting odds, and almost everyone else agreed that Lacy would ice Calzaghe inside a few rounds. It wasn't until after Joe humiliated Lacy that people changed their minds. It's also very clever coming back after the fight is over to say "Lacy was not a good fighter". Very easy to do. Would you have done it before the fight? No. It's no different to the hate people are piling on Pavlik now an elite fighter has humiliated him. Before the fight, in most people's opinion's (NOT MINE!) Pavlik was sure to finish of the aging Hopkins with a brutal KO. Now there are f**king hypocrites everywhere.

Kessler IS a good fighter -- very good. He's maybe not ATG material but he doesn't deserve some of the hate he gets on here. Not only is his technique excellent, but he is a great guy. He deserves respect.

Joe is as great as people want him to be. If he is great TO THEM, then so be it.

If Calzaghe doesn't have the hunger to continue to do what it takes to fight at the championship level then he should retire and for the same reason I wont complain or criticize Floyd Mayweather for retiring.

Joe has done enough in his career and he's almost 37 with bad hands. Joe has also been fighting with a broken bone in his wrist since the Manfedo fight. Joe fought the top SMW when he was green, defeated the top young lions while past his prime and has a victory (soon to be 2 after he beats Jones) against the top contemporaries (Jones, Hopkins, Toney and himself) around his weight range of this era. The haters will always find an excuse to hate but that's not a reason to continue fighting since you will never please them and should he lose it will be he was "exposed and overrated" etc.
