Its very true. Take it from a guy who drinks too much, lol, that **** takes a very serious toll on your body, I cant imagine how bad it could be at the level of a pro boxer.
Ricky actually is a pretty special guy to go undefeated as long as he has and have as great a career as he did, considering the lifestyle.
And its not just the drinking, over eating to the point of gaining 40 pounds only to lose it, make weight, and win the fight is pretty amazing.

Ricky Hatton really shouldnt eat all that junk and drink all that alcohol inbetween fights...

a responsible amount here and there in between fights is okay...going over 5-10lbs between fights because of a little relaxing is one thing...putting on 35-40 lbs inbetween fights is another thing...

every fight (inbetween fights) should be allowed to have some fun...relax...eat what they want...drink if they want...as long as its in a responsible manner...what ricky does is binging on junk food and alcohol then beating himself up losing that 35-40lbs before the weigh in...

it has NO benefit to him in terms of his boxing career...it only hurts him.

i guarantee paulie malignaggi isnt putting on 35-40 lbs right now...nor will he be beating himself up to drop 35-40lbs before the weigh in...

it may have been easier for hatton to do this when he was 23 years old but the man isnt exactly a young prospect anymore...he's the ring champion of 140...for his age he should still have 5 years left...but if he makes it 3 more it will be suprise...gaining and losing THAT MUCH WEIGHT in such a short amount of time has ruined ricky hatton...

it forces him to reach his peak way sooner than he should have and makes him decline faster and sooner than he should...

this all works out for me especially considering how i have 20K in points on malignaggi.

That's why Hatton's not one of my favorites. He lacks dedication to the sport.

His stamina has declined in recent years (as seen in the Urango, Colazzo, and Mayweather fights) because of his gaining and losing weight & eating and drinking too much by times.

Sounds like me. During the week im good I eat light and dont drink. Every weekend I blow up 7 pounds and spend the next week busting my ass to lose it. Not good.

                    Theres only One ricky hatton

What difference does it make if ricky likes a beer and a chicken balti in between fights i think he needs it after being the greatest lightwelter on the planet and after he beats poolie mansaggi on points cause we all know that mansaggi is gonna run the marathon in that fight and cant chuck a punch without fear of a broken hand

COME ON DON THE DON BROADHURST ON FRIDAY THE 31ST ON HALOWEEN WHEN HE STEPS THROUGH THE ROPES FOR HIS FIRST TITLE CHANCE BRING IT HOME THE DON............................
