does anyone know what his training regime consists of - i mean his timing and distance are two of his biggest assets. he is a mater of both and i would have thought that this came about as a result of lots of sparring with lots of different sparring partners.

does nyone know what his training regime is? i know he does alot of running in the welsh countryside and he often works the pads with his dad and shadowboxes but what else does he do?
He doesn't spar with a large variety of fighters, he stays in that little newbridge gym of his and spars with guys that his father trains like Lockett, Enzo Maccernelli, Cleverly etc.

    Maybe even Gavin Rees

Yup pretty much. He doesn't do tough sparring as much as most boxers of today. I think he used to a lot more earlier in his career but as his hand problems progressed he's eased off a bit, and is just a bit cautious leading up to the fight, hence why he damaged his hand months ago and postponed.

He's also mastered his style if he has one, and is more of a spontaneous fighter just trying to keep his fitness and speed up, and work on some other things.

He could probably be a better fighter if he got particular guys in for sparring to act out styles for a particular fighter, and worked on ways to combat them. Because all too often he relies on adapting in fight (albeit well), costing him a few early rounds and even a knock down. Perhaps testament to his ability aswell though, fact he can dominate the latter half or two thirds of a fight without letting the other guy get much of a look in.
