Sky do PPV in Britain and there is a market for it
Sky have done what 3 PPV all for Hatton who is the biggest fighter in the UK by a country mile and all three where because HBO forced them to do so.

Name a UK fighter other than Hatton (fighting in the States) that has had a PPV fight on Sky. Oh and i've had Sky for 8 years so i should know.

Why should he change division? I didn't see anyone changing division to fight him.

      Please stop talking horse-****.

Amir Khan had a Sky PPV a few months back and like all Brit fighters, he got exposed.

Lewis & Holyfield were on Sky PPV.

      Lewis & Tyson.

      The list goes on.

I thought we where talking about British fighters?

And don't even think about compairing Khan to Hatton or Calzaghe, he's a journeyman at best.

"Why should he change division? I didn't see anyone changing division to fight him."

          You're obviously a deluded Brit.

Do you not understand that it took Calzaghe 9 years to fight a well known American name like Jeff Lacy. Until that fight, nobody rated Joe, nobody had heard of him. The fact he was the underdog in his own country in his own backyard with UK bookmakers says it all - stay-at-home Joe was a nobody.

So why would Roy Jones Jr. move down to 168 to fight an ordinary Joe?

Glen Johnson called his bluff but they cancelled that fight twice - after the 16,000 tickets were sold - it cost Warren $100,000.

Hopkins demanded more money because from what we know about Warren and Calzaghe, they were offering sham offers to get publicity. I mean they offered Taylor $4m to move up in weight and fight in Wales yet Taylor was getting $8m for fighting Winky at his natural weight in his own country.

Don't tell me. Calzaghe will be lucky to get past a 40 year old shot Roy - you better be praying.

In that case what makes you think anyone would have fought him if he HAD moved up?

Will you give him credit if he does beat him?

Don't worry that was a retorical question.

Will I give Joe credit for beating Roy even though Joe says it's "a pointless fight" and "it would prove nothing to be the third man to KO Jones" in his book - do I need to answer your question?

Joe could've moved to 175 and fought some warm-ups like Hatton did against Collazo and Urango before his shot at the best. Calzaghe had been champion for several years, someone would've fought him.

The sad thing is that Joe chose to stay at the piss-poor super-middle division and I know it makes you feel uncomfortable but Joe could've easily fought Tarver, Jones, Winky, Taylor.

He chose not to. Look at his record.

Why bother? He would win anyway! LOL.

he fought Lacy in 06, he had no choise but to finish up his contract with Frank "the worst promoter in the world" Warren. then he started fighting big names.

So basicly As soon as his name was sellable in the states all the big US fighters where willing to put their names to a contract.

Do you honestly believe Tarver would have risked fighting joe in 03/04? and risked his big payday against RJJ et al? You might not rate Calzaghe but the boxing world sure the hell does and has for years.

This is true. Unfortunately for the haters, many well respected figures in boxing have a great deal of respect for Joe.
