Well I am in great shape and outweight Cotto by about 50 lbs, so I would guess that I last 30-40 seconds before I stopped running long enough to get caught clean. Then I would go night night.
How many rounds would you last with a good boxer???

Dont get me wrong i can act like i can fight..
I'd be there in the ring just before the bell giving it the staredown throat cut gesture
bell starts for round 1)
I look like fcukin floyd mayweather for a minute or so moving around the ring like Ali hands up like winky wright, head movement like Tyson, but the minute anyone closed in on me i'd take a bruce seldon like dive before the punch even connected and i'd just lay there like oscar ****ing the canvas screaming "Im Hurt"Comment

A good boxer? I could go into the last 3rd of the fight. A bonafide power puncher? I'd be done quick. I been in plenty of fights and can say I got a decent chin, but I'd be tired as **** after a few rds and only able to survive.Comment

i'd like to think im clever enough to last a couple of rounds with a decent pro at my weight. I've sparred a couple of pros (as in recently turned pros with a couple of fights, not established guys), but obviously fighting when they really wanted to take you out would be another story. Its hard to knock someone out if they just want to survive as well, and thats exactly what i'd be doing, i'd hardly throw a punch if i got 100k a round, just the odd courtesy jab.Comment

I think I could take a whipping like a man from Cotto for about 3 rounds. No doubt it would not be close though. I've sparred with several pros, including cruiserweight prospect Kevin Reynolds and I've done plenty good, but Cotto is different.Comment

You would be very surprised at how many people come through the gyms of this world from time to time actually thinking they can last with a pro boxer... it is insane... they see a pro working with a guy and they think they can do the same...you can spar with a one bout novice amateur and let him hang with your for five rounds as long as you don't try to hurt him....people think that means that if the pro was actually going all out then they could last too...because they are big, strong, muscled up, been in jail, know karate, have tattoos etc etc...but it is not realistic..if you have never fought before and sparred Miguel and he wanted you out of there quickly...you would be out of there quickly. It's not an insult to your manhood or your pride , it is just a realistic look at things. I had 49 pro fights, 70 amateur fights, have sparred thousands of rounds, have sparred more than 400 rounds just this year alone...but I know for SURE that I couldn't hit any of Randy Johnson's pitches, I wouldn't last more than twenty seconds on the ground with Chuck Lydell if he didn't want me to, and I couldn't beat Carl Lewis in the 100. And YOU cannot last three rounds with Miguel Cotto. It would be not only ridiculous but it would be an insult to him to even suggest a non boxer could hang with him.Comment

As a 6'7" 23 year old who weighs 190lbs, and has been in his fair share of dust ups, I'd like to say I could last a while.
But I would be kidding only myself. If they were paying me $100,000 per round I last, I know the money would be a huge incentive for me to last as long as I possibly could.
But at the end of the day, I'm in there with a guy who's a professional, even if I'm the bigger man, I say I can't take no more after 2 rounds. 3 if I'm really ballsy and/or lucky.
Would you say that is fair John?Comment
