Just look at how Jones and Hopkins did against Trinidad.

Jones is very chinney, and Hopkins was able to hurt both Calzaghe and Pavlik.
Hopkins is a vastly different fighter now than the guy Jones beat back in 93. And even then Jones didnt hurt Hopkins.

old roy would be an easier fight for ber-nard than young dawson. when RJJ, Hops, and tarver retire or get too shot to fight elite guys, dawson will be the man at 175. if the old, safety first roy gets beat by calzaghe, and i think he will, there'll be no reason for roy to fight anymore other than money

If Roy beats joe which he wont, he wont fight Hopkins. If he did he would get KO'D.


I predict Roy will just try to survive the Joe fight, much like he did against Tarver 3.

Roy got knocked out by Tarver and Glen Johnson. He also got beat outboxed and beat up in a 3rd Tarver fight. Roy looks great against ****ty guys now, but he would be to afraid to pull the trigger against a guy like Hopkins. A prime Roy yeah, he already showed that, but Roy isnt Superman anymore.

NO way Bhop is as fast!!!!! Never has been, never will be. Styles make fights, JC and KP do not have power anywhere near ROy's and Bhop is quite aware and wont be so gung-ho to jump in there. Bhop's style is clinching, Roy will eat that up.

You underestimate Roy's experience and discount his ability in terms of being crafty. As for chins, Roy's ass did get caught....twice, no doubt about it and it made him gun shy. Bhop doesnt pose the same danger.

Agreed on the Tarver and Glen issue, as for 3rd fight with Tarver, it wasnt a landslide and had Roy simply been active in just a few of the latter rounds the outcome would have been different. It was a psychological victory for Roy to simply finish the fight. As for pulling the trigger, oh he WILL pull it against Bhop and it will make a world of difference and frustrate Bhop.
