ref or not he f!@#$% beat the count. period.
i'm from montreal and i don't like bute that much.
he pounded andrade at least 9 of the 12 rounds with a knockdown, like it or not.
he should give him a rematch.
but when he faces kessler, its gonna be over for im.

Bute was dominating that fight all the way through and he was making the case to be the best in the division. Then in the 12th he decided to go toe to toe which probably wasn't the smartest idea and he was totally gassed. I guess you can't blame him when a guy like Andrade comes after you for 12 rounds even after you land your best shots over and over again.

As for the controversial ending. Bute was barely surviving and could barely stay up on his own feet their at the end. It seemed like Bute got up at 8 or 9 maybe, but for some reason the ref was paying more attention to Andrade then counting Bute out. If the ref being a Montreal native you kind have to wonder what was up. That last round was pretty fantastic and even though Andrade was dominated for basically 10, 11 rounds that ending should cause for a rematch.

I feel bad for Andrade. He's the most gracious fighter and even told the commentators he knew he couldn't win a decision in Montreal. But to stand in that neutral corner knowing that you just accomplished what you came to do and then someone's telling you "Almost", man, that's gotta hurt. Watching the fight was like watching Rocky I, he just ran out of time with the champ lifeless against the ropes. Well done Andrade, the people's champ.

Even though he lost on the cards. I think he still came out a winner becuase he never gave up and wasn't the guy that was out on his feet at the end of the fight. You could see it in the fighters faces at the end of the fight, Bute knew that he possibly got away with one and Andrade knew that even though he might have gotten robbed he left that ring giving everything he had and possibly the victory in a lot of fans minds.

            1. The ref took way too ****ing long. Whether or not he would have stopped in (inside the proper amount of time) is up to him, but I would have stopped it.

            2. Bute was done, like out cold standing up, had the ref not wasted so much time it would have given Andrade enough time to KO him clean last second, Mosley-Mayorga style.

Really bad refereeing. No doubt Bute was winning the fight, but Andrade's record should read

            Lucian Bute KO12

            Not

            Lucian Bute LUD12

Both guys looked great in this fight though, I tip my hat to both of them on a great fight. Had it been stopped like it should have been in the 12th, it'd be one of my picks for fight of the year. It was marred by controversy. Andrade still beats most guys in the division. Bute beats even more of them.

I feel a rematch is necessary.

The ending was too controversial not to have one.

I hate **** like this. Most guys behind to the point of needin a KO are so mentally beat it's a foregone conclusion it won't happen. Andrade did what he had to do and got his moment stolen from him. SMH at that dumbass ref.

so many idiots on this thread.

we get it, you guys wanted andrade to win. so did i. but you got to look at what happened objectively.

bute got knockdown with 2 seconds left so that means when he gets up the fight is over and you go to the scorecards.

if he doesn't get up by a 10 count the fight is over and andrade wins by tko.

bute got up before the 10 seconds.

therefore the fight is over and it goes to the cards

it would of been criminal if the ref stopped the fight after bute beat the 10 second count.

                      that ref was absolute idiot,
