Bute Outlasts Andrade, But Not Without Controversy

Under the rules of the IBF, Bute was ko'd. He should not have been allowed to lean on the ropes as he was taking a count and the ref was to ask Bute to take a few steps forward, this never happened. Andrade was ropped of his win, this fight was on some movie type of ending except the bad guy provailed with the tainted win.

Tough break for Andrade & that ref was terrible. The last minute of that round Bute was getting battered so IMHO that fight could've been stopped before the knock down. A rematch is definitely in order but as Andrade said he doubts they'll give him one after this.

my thoughts exactly bute was allowed to lean on the ropes for the entire count and was never asked to step forward. After the bell had rung he should have still been required to demonstrate that he could perform. bottom line the ref ****ed it up. anyone from now on who argues the point that Bute got up explain those two things why was he allowed to lean back on the ropes during the count and why was he not asked to step forward. He put all that effort into making sure Andrade was in the corner but didnt use that same effort to make sure Bute was standing and able to move forward.The ref should be punished cause those are RULES that weren't adhered to

I have to say, the title to the article is rather ironic as it was Bute who was clearly spent in the fight. That was horrible refereeing too, and not just the end but for the entire fight.

Andrade clearly won th fight by KO in 12 round.

No doubt it was a hometown robbery for the Championship fight.

we get it, you guys wanted andrade to win. so did i. but you got to look at what happened objectively.


bute got knockdown with 2 seconds left so that means when he gets up the fight is over and you go to the scorecards.

if he doesn't get up by a 10 count the fight is over and andrade wins by tko.

bute got up before the 10 seconds.

therefore the fight is over and it goes to the cards


it would of been criminal if the ref stopped the fight after bute beat the 10 second count.



that ref was absolute idiot,

actually it is no regard that he beat the count, because he was being held up by the ropes which is cause for a tko. thats the rules. the fighter can not be held up by the ropes, and much show an ableness to continue after the kd, regardless of the bell ringing or not. so you need to learn the game, and than you can run out the mouth about being objective. till than, shut your mouth, and know your role son!
