    Bute is similar to Calzaghe

Am I the only one who saw a little bit of Joe in him? (not literally)

But the way he puts his punches together and his overall stance. Reminds me of Joe. Probably late on the comparison but this is my first time seeing him fight.

No never. I hate both fighters but Calzaghe is miles better than Bute.

What will get lost in this is the fact that Bute put on a pretty good performance for 11 rounds. I am impressed with his skill. Calzaghe wouldnt have a difficult time with a guy like Andrade?

Remember Bute had a much easier time with Bika than Calzaghe did. I wouldnt say he's "miles better" at all. He seems to lack Calzaghe's grit and awkwardness. He has crisp punching and good movement though.

There are some similarities but he's definitely not as good.

Yes, he is like Calzaghe. A quick southpaw who loves to fight in angles and make his opponents miss. The only difference is that Lucian Bute is **** compared to Calzaghe. And I say that with love of Bute.

Butes Defense and offense aren't as impressive as Calzaghe, and also I think Calzaghe is far more entertaining to watch but the bhop fight was a bore-fest.

Yeah I see similarities although not in that 12th round. Joe would have just continued doing what he'd done all night and most people would have called it a shutout by the end. Bute doesn't have the stamina or the chin at the moment.

He doesn't have as much swagger as Joe. No one on the corner has swagger like Joe.

The difference between Calzaghe and Bute, is that Calzaghe is an all time great who will retire undefeated after he beats Roy Jones Jr, while Bute will end up losing to kessler or some one like that.

Does anyone else think that Bute might benefit from focusing less on movement and more on developing/utilising a stiff jab?

Being able to move like he did is impressive for a big guy, but he was still getting caught too much, even in the first half of the fight, and Andrade got inside easier than he did against Kessler IMO.

I'm not sure if his stamina is questionable or not, but it's easier for a tired fighter to fall back on his strong jab than to move around the ring the way Bute does.

It's easier said than done, of course, however he seems to be physically strong, but not have a jab to match, and his current style seems as if it might not be enough to win fights at the highest level.

I think it safe to say that Joe has a better chin....

Said it before the welsh fans...lol
