"I'm not making any excuses" ...........but

I hate when fighters say this in a post fight interview after losing, then turn around the next day or even hours later and start with the "but".

In the in ring post fight interview Pavlik said there would be no excuses, now go and watch the boxingscene interview with him backstage.

"I'm not making any excuses, but there were some things that happened earlier in the week. Something I've been dealing with."

Then he looks at Jack Loew as if he wants Jack's permission to go ahead and start with the bull****.

Some Ohio paper is even claiming that ontop of the Bronchitis he supposedly had, he was dealing with a sore elbow and Bursitis.

i love when they say i couldnt get off my punches, like they lost the fight instead of the other guy winning it. maybe you couldnt get your punches of because your opp did something to make you think twice

        So now theres:

The weight (despite the fact that Kelly looked good at 166lbs, just 4lbs shy of the 170lbs limit for the Hopkins fight.)
        Bronchitis
An inflamed muscle sac in his elbow
        Brusitis

Anything else I'm missing here? Or did Kelly suddenly get A.I.D.S. too?

Kensington and Allegheny born right here. 3rd and Lehigh to be specific.

Precisely. The reason Kelly couldn't get any of his punches off was because Hopkins was never there to be hit, he kept circling out of the way of that big right hand. Anytime Kelly wanted to use it he was reaching desperately.

I always laugh at your avatar. I love Muhammad, but I also have a sore spot for him as well. (Huge Frazier fan.)

I also hate the "no excuses, but....".

I understand why excuses are made, but still...

"I didn't feel right in there. I felt spacey. But no excuses"- Angel Manfredy after losing to Diego Corrales.

Zab Judah after losing to Carlos Baldomir:

                "No excuses, but..............."

Speaking of the World Series, did Philly win game 2 tonight? I haven't checked. I know as of last night they were up 1-0 having won 3-2.

Yeah, I want to make it clear: This is not just a "let's **** on Pavlik" thread.

It's a "let's **** on all fighters who do this" thread.

There's dozens upon dozens of examples of this. They alway scome with "I'm not making any excuses" and then you know the "but" is coming not too far behind.
