actually the pavlik situation was like this:

HBO would only approve 3 names for Pavlik: Paul Williams, Winky Wright and Hopkins.

Paul vs Pavlik would get the tops of teh Budget......Paul Williams' maximum was 1.4-1.5 million, he refused.....

Winky Wright was clearly ducked, a fighter who has a HBO guarantee of 3 mill for his next fight, was offered only 750000 by Arum...not even the tops of the HBO budget like Williams...(which is why i find it hilarious that misinformed people think Wright keeps pricing himself out, in reality, hes gotten the message that he shouldnt ask for too much...which is why abraham had to pull the im only interested in pavlik in the us bit..)

so Pavlik had to fight nard on PPV....the HBO crew are hypocrites for questioning Pavlik's motives to fight Hopkins....

What he's doing is some real throwback ****. For one, he's active as hell, fighting every other month it seems, two, he'll fight anyone, anytime and three he's trying to become a champion in three, maybe four weight classes at the same time.

That's pretty crazy for this day and age if you ask me.

After he beats Phillips, he'll have a belt at 147, 154 and who knows, maybe he'll get a crack at Pavlik. Wouldn't that be somethin if he were to win? If so, you'd be forced to put him in the top 3 or 4 pound 4 pound imo.

Look Williams is only fighting or willing to fight anybody because he isnt at the top at the moment, WHEN he gets to the top then he would be the same like Oscar, Mayweather and Margarito (Not taking any risk fight without the other guy bringing something to the table).

Margarito was willing to fight anyone before but after beaten cotto he is willing to wait and go after the best money fight available to him rather than risk is statures by fighting someone like Williams again.
