    Staredowns in weigh in

Lately most staredowns at weigh-ins result in fighters pressing their nose against another fighters nose for example Calzaghe/Hopkins, Calzaghe/Kessler, Hatton/Mayweather/Calzaghe/Hopkins and the most recent Pavlik/Hopkins. Does anybody think it's funny or ****** and completely unneccessary? Hopkins basically gave Pavlik an eskimo kiss, Pavlik's nose was squashed against Hopkin's nose.

Calzaghe-Kessler wasn't really nose to nose. They were smiling, they looked like they were going to kiss each other.

It's part of the game. Get right in front of your opponent and stare him right down. Get in his face. Some fighters don't like it and get heated.

Notice in the Mayweather/Hatton fight that the weigh in staredown was the only time that Hatton lost his cool a little bit?

Ain't nothin wrong with a good old fashion staredown. You can tell a lot from a fighter's eyes.

That isn't half as bad as MMA... the stare downs in MMA turn into a kissing match.

its tradition and i dont see it stopping . . . and some stare downs are really intense and get the anticipation going to the big fight.
