What do you think managers do when matching up they're fighter with another? Why is Margarito not in a hurry to fight Williams? Williams was outclassed by Quintana in fight #1. Quintana got crushed by Cotto. Didn't Cotto get man handled by Margarito? Please don't bring up fight #2 with Quintana? Quintana won 12and 1/2 of the rounds and got caught. So who is the best ww? When matching fighters,.. style is important. Different reason why styles make fights. Why was nobody willing to pay to watch a Winky fight? His "style" was boring. He is good, but he will even admit he is boring to watch. Styles do make fights!
IMO the counter punchers are styles that don't makes fight.. most of them are wating for their opponents to attack, they are boring as hell...

Styles make fights it true but it's a cliche that is often overused. Styles make fights at the HIGHEST level. There are cases such as Hopkins-Pavlik where one fighter is just levels above another.

"style makes fight" wasn't applicable with Cotto-Marg IMO.

Boring? That's why you match up a counter puncher with a fighter that comes at him throwing punches....So he can counter,..duh....

My my. Some of you youngsters are getting quite cheeky. The styles make fights fact has been passed down from generation to generation. It's one of the most important rules in Boxing.
