The rumors have been circulating for some time, but I haven't heard anything specific. I give Thompson a very good chance at beating Tony. If he fights a few top 20 fighters after, he might earn another crack at Wlad. I don't know if he has enough time though, he's not a young kid anymore.Comment

hahha, he hasnt been a young kid since he started boxing. the guy had his first pro fight when he was 28 or 29 in 2000, and I dont think he had much off an amateur career either. The rumors have been circulating for some time, but I haven't heard anything specific. personally, I think he has a good shot at beating everyone in the division that doesnt have the last name 'Klitschko'. Id go for a fight with him and Toney, but Id also like him to face maybe Dimitrenko or Peter...or maybe he could even finish off Maskaev.
who knows how motivated he is to fight at this point though. but he gave a good account of himself in the Wladimir fight, so Im happy as is.Comment

I agree. Tony Thompson put up a much better fight against Wladimir than Sam Peter did against Vitali.hahha, he hasnt been a young kid since he started boxing. the guy had his first pro fight when he was 28 or 29 in 2000, and I dont think he had much off an amateur career either.

i agree with everything being discussed, i'd LOVE to see Boytsov and Dimitrenko step it up tomorrow and get in the title mix BUT keep in mind, like it has already been said, their ages 22 and 26. Boytsov is so young and Dimitrenko if history is an example will probably peak from 29 into his mid 30's (Lewis, Klychko) being 6'7 he's got a good 3 or 4 years before he really starts to reach his potential.
That said i don't think it'd be bad for Boytsov to fight someone in the lower end of the top ten, and i'd love(it'd be a great fight) and hate(seeing two Ukrainians go at it) seeing Dimitrenko Klychko go at it. Dimitrenko/Valuev would get my **** hard!Comment
