LOL. He wouldn't be fighting for "them", he fights for himself. HBO only give dates to 3 "fighters" companies. Thats Golden Boy (Oscar), K2 (Klitschko) and Square Ring (Jones). Anyone else needs to essentially "hire" a promoter to secure television dates. Like it or not, thats the way this business runs. Golden Boy happens to have 2 very attractive fights available in Diaz and Marquez, and unlimited access to HBO dates. That means they are definitely in a position to be the front runner. But by no means does that mean we would be able to work out a deal. It just means we wouldnt rule it out simply because Nate and Shaeffer had words.

At the end of the day, a deal either makes sense, or it doesn't. Nate is actually in a very good position. He controls 75% of the belts in the division. So whoever we end up doing business with will have to come correct. Not to say we will outprice him, but he is certainly not in a situation where he is desperate and needs to take the first offer that comes around.

And to the poster who asked about Guzman, that fight is a dead issue. Unless he somehow manages to get himself back into a mandatory position over the next year or 2, or decides to settle the claim from the last fight, it wont even be discussed. He's not relevant anymore.
