    Blasphemy?

I've never been a huge Hop fan. Somedays I like him, other days I could do without him. That said, the guy is an unbelievable fighter. The weekend his p4p status jumped a few more spots. But is it boxing blasphemy for me to believe that Hopkins would have beaten anyone on Sugar Ray Robinsons resume after he turned 30, compared to Hopkins after 35? And this includes Joey Maxim on the night Ray couldn't continue and lost his shot at the lightheavyweight championship.

I don't rank him highter p4p (possibly at middleweight though), and he hasn't foughter better competition overall than Robinson. But after 30 Ray wasn't exactly the same fighter as he was at welter. Hopkins, after 35 has not only won the biggest fights of his career, he's improved. Opinions?

Hopkins in 2001 was better then Robinson of 1955 or 6. Whenever he had made his comeback.

Robinson at middleweight had wins over LaMotta, Basilio, Fullmer, Graziano, Olson, Turpin, Basora, Villemain, not a bad MW resume at all.

He also had his share of losses but mostly during his comeback.

The fighter I like to compare Hopkins with is Archie Moore.

If you believe Moore was born in 1913 like many do, he could claim wins over Harold Johnson, Joey Maxim, Nino Valdes, Bob Baker, Bobo Olson, Durelle and others + losing efforts against Marciano, Patterson and Ali past 40.

Dude, I have a little knowledge of Moore and Walcott and Louis and the likes of them, but you seem to be an oldschool boxing encyclopedia. Just how old are you??
