and oh yea, I dont know why $50 is such a magical number for PPVs. I mean really, that number makes me sick. they need to bring the price down. only really high profile fights should be that much. no one is gonna buy a lesser ppv when its 50 bucks...
The Zord and the flute man!, and the enemies ZED and Rita Repulsa (was that her name?)

I am not referring to a specific match or movie but for the sake of argument, let's use Mayweather-Hatton and The Dark Knight as examples.

Why? Because they've discovered that people will pay it, that's why. When people stop paying that price for a PPV "event", they'll start getting right with their prices.

Also consider that the promoters end up with the lion's share of any profits. I don't believe in socialism, but I really would like to see a cap on the money these guys make from their fighters. Anything over 10% after reasonable expenses is robbery and they should be prosecuted. Some of these pricks have taken 50% or more of their fighter's money, all of it in a few instances, and Don King is one of the leaders of the robber barons. Killing is too good for that bastard, I tell you.

That's Interesting. I figured that there was some equation for this. Unfortunately it would be extremely hard to calculate this.

I guess you would need to break it down too how much the promotion costs, the purse for both fighters, the portion that goes to the promotion company, the officiatiing costs
They fight all their lives sometimes for peanuts. Not all fighters get the chance to be on a PPV event and get paid for it. SO when they do get the chance when their name is a draw they take advantage of it. It is what it is. You should do what I do if paying the $50 bothers you that much I usually invite a few friends over the house order some food get a case or two have the PS3 going and each one of the fellas contributes. Usually 4 of us we spend about $50 on food and beer and $50 on the fight. I usually pay for the fight and they get the cost on the beer and the food. It is what it is my man.
