PS: Don't forget to count the years it takes before you see another undefeated fighter retire with 46 or so fights under his belt. Why do people remember Marciano? I mean the general public...

I bet that took maybe 2 seconds to think over.

    Good luck!

You're sarcastic, snitty, petty and mean.

    I like it.

I don't think anybody wants to see Joe Calzaghe anymore anyway. Other than people in England. Everybody knows Joe Calzaghe is not nearly as good as B-Hop, even at age 43 he recieved a schooling. At age 30-35 Hopkins would've destroyed the hype train. He might not even get past Jones so it's all good

I'd want too see Calz again if he fought, I like him. I do think he should retire though, his hands are letting him down too much over the last few years.

Cal-slappy would have died against hopkins that night if hopkins was half the fighther he was against pavlik. Looks like Pavlik was paid off to throw the fight. The boy never even tried to do anything. I know the old school slick veteran confused the hell out of him, but c'mon pavlik never even tried to do anything. What a waste of $50.

If he REALLY wanted to prove himself he'd fight somebody like Dawson.

Despite the closeness of the decision, there's no demand for a rematch cuz the fight was dull. Nobody's cryin over this. If Joe C wins, let him quit. If he loses, we can see Bernard rematch Roy. that's a better fight than Hopkins-Calzaghe anyway.

                    Blah.

Hopkins WAS the same fighter. Calzaghe was relentless. And fast. Hopkins doesn't do as well against fast opponents. Like Taylor. Like Jones. Like Calzaghe.

Put a one-dimensional robot in front of me and I'll give you a boxing master class like Kelly Pavlik got.

Let me ask you something. How about if Hopkins had fought the entire fight against Joe like he fought the first 4 rounds? What would you have thought?

Hopkins couldn't keep the pace that Joe set. Simple. That's why Joe won.

I think a Hopkins vs Calzaghe rematch is completely justified because not only was it officially scored a split decision, many observers legitimately scored in favor of Hopkins. It was a close enough fight to warrant a rematch. Imagine if the decision had gone Hopkins way instead of Calzaghe, obviously Calzaghe fans would then want a rematch, and so would Calzaghe himself. As luck would have it, there happened to be 2 judges who thought Joe won and 1 who thought Bernard won. Luck of the draw for Joe but it doesn't change the fact it was a fight that could have gone either way.. Let's not forget that Enzo Calzaghe himself thought Joe had lost the fight by the end of round 11, he told his son he needed a KO to win. That wasn't motivational talk, that's not Enzo's style and you wouldn't tell a fighter he needs a KO in the last round and risk being KO'd himself unless you genuinely believed he would otherwise lose on points. Effectively, even Enzo Calzaghe scored the fight for Hopkins.
