Was I the only one bored with Pavlik-Hopkins?!

You meant "There were less than 10 clinches per round."..Good to see that you didn't see it.
There were less than 10 clinches in the whole fight. That point deduction was absurd. No warning or anything.
Pavlik got a couple of warnings before his unwarranted point deduction.
He also didn't really run, he moved around some, but... not as much as you would expect, and he threw out vicious, assbeating combinations. He looked even more savage than he was back when he was The Executioner.

It was entertaining in my opinion. His most entertaining fight since Trinidad. Tarver fight was ok. The 2 Taylor fights Bernard ain't let his hands go. Winky fight ******. Calzaghe fight was fair. There were some clinches but nothing ridiculous.Comment

the main event was the PPV for me...
for some reason i had a hard time getting into the undercards really...
the first fight was a first round knockout (i believe)...
the second was very good (best undercard in my opinion)...
and the third undercard was kind of boring seeing as how dib was so outmatched that it wasnt all that competitive...
pavlik v. hopkins wasnt going to be like pavlik v. taylor I or pavlik v. miranda...
he was fighting hopkins (who is 43) so i expected hopkins to do what he could to maintain his stamina...i didnt expect too fast paced of a fight...i didnt start to really appreciate hopkins' intelligence and brilliant performance until around the 6th or 7th round...from then on hopkins got more and more comfortable and really winning big.
for the first 4 rounds i was waiting for pavlik to take control and hopkins to begin to slow down/tire out...
instead hopkins put on a great show.Comment
