Was I the only one bored with Pavlik-Hopkins?!

I mean don't get me wrong Hopkins looked GREAT at 43..and he moved like he was Pav's age...

But the only time it got slightly exciting is when B-hop would have an outburst and flurry on Pavlik at will!..or even when he would wind up and Blast Pav at will!..

But there was waay too much clinching and running around the ring for my taste..I know B-hop had to beware that HUGE right hand that Pavlik has..but he made this fight so technically BORING!..

    Am I alone on this?..

Or was there someone out there admiring how great he'd clinch and grab the back of his head?..

That was classic & masterful performance Hopkins put on last night. This is boxing. It is not a Rocky movie.

I agree it wasnt an epic fight like many will lead you to believe. It was somewhat boring and even though Hopkins was winning practically every round he still held alot. And Kelly did block alot of Hopkins shots but didnt punch with him or return fire much. Could have been a great fight though.

It wasn't the most entertaining fight from an action standpoint but it was great to watch an old master at work, taking away his opponents weapons and making him pay, great performance.

I guess I tend to like a bit more risk..and I expected some trades and Pavlik to land a few good ones atleast..

but Hopkins moved good and clinched alot!..not blaming him..

Just BORING as FUCK! to me..

The only reason it wasn't super exciting is because it wasn't competitive really.

It had me on the edge of my chair watching Hopkins take Pavlik to school.

This is what happens when you've seen too many fights where excellent defense isn't on display. Two guys with marginal defense knocking the **** out of each other has desensitized you to a master's work. What Hopkins did Saturday was like fine wine dining, or a night out to a critically acclaimed Broadway show.

Personally I liked Tarver-Dawson more...it was more exciting and not as one-sided I guess you can say..

and even tho Pavlik could have switched the momentum with one solid shot!..I knew it wouldn't happen after the 1st RD..so I was just really disappointed that Hopkins picked him apart by winning a pretty boring match..

                    LMAO!..

                    love the analogies!..

I actually enjoyed watching Money May when he was a more technically sound fighter as he moved up in weights..and he still kept me on edge cuz he moved so fluent and was so precise!..

B-hop kept clinching and using his experienced lil tricks to hit Pav on the opposite side of the ref and when Pav would strike back he'd grab the back of his head like he got mangled!..

It's part of the game..I KNOW!..but it wasn't a fight I personally enjoyed..I was actually dozing off towards the 11th RD..

Might have just been me tho!..O'well!
