As Hopkins said, this was his best performance and I agree with him, it was a great performance.

Kelly Pavlik is only 26 years old. He has not reached his peak yet. This fight will make him better. It was not a complete embarrassment, at least he was not knocked out.

i agree with wright he is a middleweight (like kelly) and fought 'nard at 170 (like kelly), yet wright won a couple of rounds and some would even tell you he won the fight, yet kelly couldnt seem to do **** at all.

Trinidad actually did do better than Pavlik vs a younger and more prime Hopkins

I dont see how Trinidad,De La Hoya, or Tarver did better than Pavlik.

First off Trinidad and De La Hoya got knocked out. Thier is no getting around that.

Tarver didnt do any better, in fact might have done worse, because he was knocked down. He didnt do any better at winning rounds.
judge: John Coyle 118-109 | judge: Clark Sammartino 118-109 | judge: Al Bennett 118-109.

Pavlik wasnt knocked down and had a bull**** point taken from him.
judge: Barbara Perez 117-109 | judge: Alan Rubenstein 119-106 | judge: Steve Weisfeld 118-108

              ****** thread.

I think a large part of it was that kelly just wasn't prepared for that kind of Hopkins performance. There was nothing to indicate that Hopkins was still capable of pulling off something like that.

I actually think this fight might help Pavlik in the long term. I think he will return to 160 and still rule it. I would still pick him over AA.

Tito did not do better than Hopkins.

Pavlik and Tito both only won 1 round each against Hopkins

I still can't believe one judge gave two rounds to Pavlik. I guess it was nice of Hopkins to let Kelly's Mam be one of the judges.
