Vitali's win was historic, because for the first time two brothers are heavyweight chapmpions at the same time.

He had been inactive since Dec 11/04 (that's about FOUR years) and the fight was for a world title. He won by stoppage, more impressive than winning a decision. Pavlik was moving up from middleweight to fight a light heavyweight.

Vitali's win was more impressive, but because he's not black and American, more people will vote in this poll for Hopkins.

Pavlik is a FAR better fighter than is Peter in a pound for pound sense. He actually has an understanding of technique and patience.

Both were great wins but Hopkins dominating Pavlik was a bit more unexpected than Vitali dominating Peter. This is simply a case of one opponent being supremely better than the other.

Hopkins, he got at least $3 Million for the fight and on HBO Pay Per View. While Vitali's fight was shown at Showtime. But, that's an opinion coming from America. I won't argue with any Europeans that think that the Vitali win was bigger.

I hate to say it but BHops was better, I honestly hate Hopkins as a fighter and dont a much higher opinion of him as a person but beating Pavlik is better than beating Peter. Peters weaknesses were obvious and plentiful, while Pavliks were obvious but I I didnt think Hopkins could school him like that. Especially if you've seen Hopkins last 10 fights or so. I didnt think he could still fight like that. Vitali hasnt performed like he did in 3+ years Hopkins hasnt performed like that in 7

Hopkins, easy decision. His opponent was way higher up on the p4p list (actually hit the top 10) and was the only true champion (peter merely held the belt, the other Klit is the actual division champ). Beyond the paper stats, Pav is far more dangerous and has looked MUCH better in their previous 3 fights. Not only that, but beyond a 4 year layoff, Hopkins' age and previous performances lead people to think this type of ass whooping was impossible. Truth be told, this is just what the champ looks like when he's hungry and not coming off a 1 year layoff.

But you didn't comment on the "Vitali is a nobody" post, Joseph? That poster is obviously racist, but you don't seem to mind. But if I said "Hopkins is a nobody", then you'd call me a racist!

Why the double standard? Shouldn't it work the same both ways?
