eh, Ill go ahead and say Pavlik. I know Ive said this a couple times before, but I doubt Kessler's ability to take physical and mental punishment. yes, Pavlik is slow and a basic fighter. but he can punch, and will come to fight.

I dont think that Kessler has the lateral movement or defence to nullify Pavlik like Hopkins did. plus he doesnt defend his body as constantly as Hopkins does. I see this going sort of like Andrade vs. Kessler, except that Pavlik's punches will actually be hurting Kessler, and he would be able to win the fight down the stretch.

Footwork is the key here. Kessler will give Pavlik angles unableing him to tee off. If anything we saw last night it was that Pavlik needs time and room to tee off on. Kessler wont give him that.

A sidenote here is that this recent poll now is a landslide for Kessler. It's a far cry from the polls posted after Pavlik blasted Gary Lockett.

I fancied Pavlik before last night but he doesn't look good above 160 - yet. Kessler is obviously a much better fit at 168.

But saying that, Kessler wouldn't school Pavlik, at all. Hopkins is an amazing boxer, who ****ed Kelly up with movement and elusivity. Pavlik just couldn't connect, so his power became totally negated. He wouldn't find Kessler as hard to hit.

Kessler's faster and a better fit at 168, but he ain't B-Hop, and it remains to be seen how much heart he has.

I know, amazing, right? when a fighter loses that undefeated record, he completely changes, despite the fact that he is the same exact fighter as before.

I didnt expect Hopkins to school Pavlik like he did...but that was mostly due to me underestimating Hopkins more than overestimating Pavlik. Hopkins is just unnatural. but overall Pavlik hasnt changed that much in my eyes. same fighter as always. I wouldve picked Hopkins to KO him in Hopkins' prime before last night, nothing really changed there.

I don't think Pavlik is completely worthless now that he has lost, his size and pressure will give other top fighters trouble but you've got to question how he can possibly come back from that loss to Hopkins.

There are a lot of unanswered questions about Kessler as well in my opinion. The Haussler fight will prove nothing unless Kessler struggles with him.

Theres a difference between losing an unbeaten record and being outclassed and exposed.

Remermber back to when Tyson lost his "0"? It was a given it was a bad night at the office and he'd comeback.

Pavlik was dominated, shown up, took to bits. He's been exposed.

I believe Kessler is a better boxer with quicker hands and better footwork, I think he takes Pavlik by a convincing UD.

Neither do i, but i do know that he will lose big fights against the elite boxers around his weight like Calzaghe, AA and Kessler.

                  He's a one dimentional fighter.

My post was definetely not directed at you. You are a fine poster with some good well tought out opinions.

I just feel this poll is classic NSB. On the bandwaggon - Off the bandwaggon.

I love that word, 'exposed'. Everyone saw how slow, plodding and straightfoward Pavlik was before the Hopkins fight. he still had wins over Jermain Taylor anyway, because of his other good qualities.

and the Tyson example was terrible. Tyson lost practically every round and was KOed. he looked worse than usual and Douglas looked way better than usual, same thing with Pavlik and Hopkins.
