Toney is my boy but I really woudn't be confident in a victory. At all.

Hopkins is a brilliant fighter. So is JT.

I really have no idea who wins this. No idea.

230 you crazy, heavyweight is 210 and Hopkins dont have to move up that high, Toney is just over weight at Heavyweight yes im saying Toney fights fat at heavyweight. He ain't a true Heavyweight he's got a lot of fat on him.
The point is that this fight is not going to happen because Toney has let himself get too out of shape and has no intentions of dropping that weight.

Hopkins had his last fight at 170 lbs while Toney fought at 226 lbs.

I'm just saying in his prime he was willing to lead much, much more than he does now, he was a pretty aggressive fighter back then.

But Toney wasn't as good chasing down his opponents, and Hopkins studies his man too much to be rushing Toney on the ropes. He fights off the back foot beautifully and frustrates Toney. Worst thing that could happen is Toney gets himself into another Michael Nunn situation. Hopkins is no Nunn, and would knock anyone out that took that approach to him.

It's hard to say what would have happened, Toney himself was/is a very, very smart fighter, he could have lured Hopkins into chasing him and as I said Hopkins was a more aggressive fighter back in his prime, who knows?

I doubt a repeat of the Nunn fight would have happened, Nunn was basically outworking Toney, Hopkins has never really been a guy that outworks his opponents, but who knows?

It's still a toss up fight to me, it's a bad styles matchup for both of them IMO.

Toney is a better boxer than Hopkins. No question.

this would have been an amazing fight. probebly a lot like the McCallum vs. Toney fights...highly skilled fights that can go either way scoring wise.

assuming this is an a in shape, prime Toney, I think he would win barely. he had some pretty damn fast hands at the lighter weights, and would very hard to counter.

Hopkins came into the ring 180 against Pavlik while Toney can probably be 215 if he dedicates himself to this superfight. Roy Jones was 190 when he faced the 225 John Ruiz. Since so much of Toney's weight is useless fat, I actually think that it would be a somewhat reasonable and very competitive fight if B-Hop bulked to 190.
