      GROUP IT!

Listen... Genaro Hernandez was old, which is obvious because he never fought again.

Jesus Chavez was a good fighter, but never really great.

Vargas and C. Hernandez were okay fighters who got titles.

Corrales is the only fighter to hang his hat on at that weight, and I think he was wildly overrated to begin with. I mean, ****, who did he beat to skyrocket to 5th in the sport? Roberto Garcia? What was so special about Garcia? Other than Garcia, his biggest accomplishment at the weight was splitting bouts with Casamayor.

Marquez beat a faded Barrera (although Barrera is not nearly as faded as people make him out to be, and showed in his last bout against Pacquiao how good he is. You can tell how good of a fighter Marquez (the faded feather as you call him) is because he dominated Casamayor at 135 and took his belt in his first fight at the weight.

In addition to Marquez, I'll take the faded version of Morales in the second bout being better than the Genaro Hernandez that was outgunned as ****, and I'll take the faded Barrera over Chavez, Vargas and C. Hernandez.

      I'm comfortable as **** saying Pacquiao's 130 resume > Mayweather's 130 resume.

Pacquiao has the better resume, Mayweather was the better fighter, Arguello was the best ever. Simple summation of 130.

Marquez would do the same, a prime Marquez may even beat Floyd at 130.
For example Diego & Hatton were both undefeated, in their 20s, & ranked in the top 10 P4P before they were KOd by Floyd. Manny as great as he is can't say anything like that.

I must point out a few things. Genaro Hernandez was not old in boxing nor in age, he was only 32 at the time and his only lost was to a young, prime De La Hoya who at the time was beating everyone in those lower divisions, so that's nothing to be ashamed of. I also look at the stage when Mayweather beat him. Floyd only had about 17 wins at the time and was making a huge step in class. Not only did he beat Hernandez, but he dominated and won virtually every round en route to a stoppage. This was basically a green contender going against a seasoned champion that had about 40 fights. That was so great about Mayweather. At his biggest moments, he always fought at the highest level and really performed. I'm not sure if he looked better against Corrales or Hernandez, both i have in my collection.

After Hernandez's loss to Oscar, he beat the still credible Azumah Nelson, who was still winning against top level competition around the time. He was coming off stoppage wins of Jesse James Leja and Gabriel Ruelas.

Also, Corrales was a great fighter, and with the exception of Mayweather he fought to competitive fights with everyone that beat him, even in his losses. After Mayweather he went on to beat Casamayor, Castillo at lightweight and was a 2x super featherweight champion and the lightweight champion as well. When Mayweather beat him, both were undefeated and if i am remembering correctly, they were fighting to unify their titles. He was 33-0 and had about 28 stoppages. What fighter did Pacquaio beat at super featherweight that had these kind of credentials and was natural in that weight class? As i have stated earlier, Marquez only had a few fights at 130, Barrera's key wins at 130 was against Morales( who was not natural at 130) and Rocky Juarez.

I think that many people are going by names. When you hear the name ''Barrera'' or ''Morales'' then you normally think about what they did for their entire career, and not only what they did at 130 which the thread is about. At 130 alone, Corrales and Hernandez is greater than Barrera, Morales and certainly Marquez.

Between floyd and Pac's resume at 130 however, Pac has a loss at 130. Floyd does not.

But it's worth noting that the ring magazine published an article just be4 they got bought by gbp stating that Pacquiao would demolish just as/ if not more easily anyone on Floyd's resume at 130.
rofl. Corrales would've decapitated Manny at 130. Genero Hernandez has a good chance of beating Manny too, same with Jesus Chavez.
