I remember him not wantin to accept a step aside fee to let VK use his emeritus status to challenge Maskaev. Bet now Peter wishes he woulda taken the payoff without the ass whippin.

I think Sam Peter lost a lot of credibility in this fight and probably will not earn such a high purse ever again in his career. He didn’t take this fight seriously at all and had zero intensity in the training vids I saw. He came into this fight overweight, slow, and uninspired. He didn’t have a ‘plan B’ after ‘plan A’ didn’t work was easily broken down mentally and physically by the superior Vitali Klitschko. After following Sam Peter for the better part of his career, I was very disappointed in his performance….

                  Whoa. That's pretty good.

But considering the heavies aren't superstars in the US Peter's purse wasn't bad either.

And to think Corrie Sanders got 125k when he beat Wlad and probably a little over a million fighting Wlad. He got paid 3x less and put up 3x more of a fight than Peter did.
Fighters don't get paid on performance, but perhaps future paydays will be less, but people sometimes forget the bad fights. One spectacular ko, and Peter will make the money again, like it or not.

Yeah that's a classic. Think Buster Douglas. He gor zilch when he fought Tyson and a boatload when he fought Holyfield. That's the fightgame for ya'.
