Dela Hoya, Tarver, Roy Jones , when is it gonna stop and when will so called knowledgeable boxing fans stop paying for these trash fights. At best put them on free TV on a Friday or Saturday night and let the real in their prime fighters get their chance. Who really thinks even the Pavlik vs an old Hopkins is worth PPV money?? Who does Dela Hoya challenge next the strawweight champion???
Calzaghe is old, and past his prime. I say this is a legitimate fight. Pavlik and Dawson are the ones wanting to beat on the old guys. Dawson is what, 27? He has just fought a 39yr old Tarver who has not looked good in years but all of a sudden Dawson is a fighting god. Calzaghe has beat Kessler and Lacy in the last three years when they are both around a decade younger than him. I give Calzaghe more respect for taking on the younger, fitter, and hungry opposition. Lacy, Kessler >>> Taylor, Lockett. Lacy, Kessler, Hopkins >>> Johnson, Tarver.

People on this board need to realise that Calzaghe is an old guy, who happens to be that good he negates his age with pure boxing skills.

Calzaghe is not the guy with two ko losses to Tarver and Johnson. Calzaghe is not the guy who has lost 4 times. But Calzaghe is the guy who is given no respect by the majority of people on this board, and Calzaghe is the guy who will never get praise no matter who he beats.

Roy Jones was a "greater fighter" than Joe. If greatness can be acheived why cant it be lost? As they stand, here and now, the greater fighter at this present time will be decided in November.

Thats opinion only. Lacy gets beat by anyone mentioned here except Lockett and stopped by a few.

Don't mind me. I was just fooling around before. Pointing out obvious, trivial things.

roy stopped gunning for ko's years ago. this is just to hype the fight. i hope he gets that killers instinct back though for this fight. he does like to put on a show and knocking out a top pound for pounder with an undefeated record would certainly be the ultimate show, so maybe he does it....

we all know what happened when he got his mind right and gave "a whoopin to montell griffin".
