In order to keep the fight in the center of the ring he'll have to decrease Margarito's punch output AND hurt him. You guys are asking him to do a lot. He'd have to move more or take more punches. Which one is it gonna be?

      center of the ring

keep Tony readjusting and moving....Tony chases more than he traps

keep the jab present and clear to reset Tony

do not engage in sustained exchanges

I hope Ruiz and Hatton were deep in his thoughts.

Every time his back touches the ropes he needs to clinch and turn. Margarito did all of his damage on the ropes. I know it's easier said than done, but I can count on one hand the number of times Cotto clinched.

see I am of the thought that if he over clinches he will also tire from that as well. Margarito is a strong dude and for Cotto to keep Tony in a clinch will exert a lot of energy. If he clinches it has to be to move and take it back to the middle, anymore than that and he is wasting energy
