James Kirkland vs Danny Perez Nov 22.

Sources have told Maxboxing that jr. middleweight contender James Kirkland will ink a promotional pact with Golden Boy Promotions and will make his debut under their banner on November 22nd as the opening bout of HBO's telecast (that features Ricky Hatton-Paulie Malignaggi) against veteran Danny Perez.

I'm glad Golden Boy signed Kirkland and Gamboa for this very reason. Their undercards have been lacking. I'll watch any time these two fight.

Perez is a great opponent for Kirkland. He is a tough guy who wont go away and should take his punches

I wonder if HBO will show a tripleheader, i heard Alfredo Angulo might fight Craig Mcewan

          Oh wow.

This is going to be a good one. Perez is a little shopworn but I suspect he'll be extremely motivated for this one. And Kirkland has some serious flaws. I'm just hoping Perez lasts long enough to make it interesting and perhaps show us a bit more about Kirkland.

Danny Perez started as a lightweight back in the mid-90s. He doesn't have much power, but he seems to have a a good chin.

Too bad they won't let Kirkland fight another light middleweight contender, someone at least in the top 50 in that weight division. Yuri Foreman vs. Kirkland would be an interesting matchup.

Winnable fight for Perez if he can stay in there and make Kirkland pay for his mistakes. Big if.

I am going to be ballsy and say Perez TKO6

Foreman would take the starch out of the fight, his movement would make for a bad fight with Kirkland. Besides, Foreman has a good matchup with Deandre Latimore coming up this year.

Ha! Kirkland's opposition has been pretty shoddy - so much so that this represents a step-up. But I don't understand why Foreman would take such a bout. High risk, extremely low reward.
