I doubt they'll enforce that, unless it was part of the agreement to let Vitali fight for the title. If the do enforce that, I think Vitali will retire. I wonder if Wlad can fight Gomez for a vacant title.

          He's never fought Monte Barrett.

He's only lost one fight, to journeyman Yanqui Diaz, and he was KOed in that one. His his first fight with Oliver McCall was ruled a no contest when he tested positive for *******.

He's a slick southpaw with lots of power (35 KOs).

No. They only fight Gomez ever lost was to a nobody named Diaz when he showed up out of shape and seemed like he was almost sleepwalking. He got caught in the first round and the ref stopped it when he didn't respond to the barrage of punches being thrown at him.

I think Gomez has a better chance than anybody right now. As I was saying in another thread, Herbie Hide seemed to have had some success [albeit for just one round] because he could move well and had fast hands. Gomez can move well and has fast hands, and despite the first round stoppage to Diaz, has shown to have a decent chin. Gomez is a fluid, crafty, and unpredictable fighter who will not just stand there and let Klitschko get any kind of rhythm. Gomez will be moving and throwing accurate jabs and straight lefts up top and to the body, and moving...then getting out of there...then throwing a few combinations and getting out of there. I think it would be a complete stinker of a fight, but one which Gomez could steal.

Another thing most people won't know is that Gomez is probably not even at 75% at what he could be at. [Im not saying Klitschko is 100% either of course]. If Gomez truly breaks his ass training for this fight and comes in focused and in the shape of his life, I would give him a very good shot at winning. Klitschko will be facing a moving target, an accurate puncher, and an experienced and skillful boxer. That's something he's not used to. From what I've read Gomez seems to have a lot of experience sparring very tall guys, and seems genuinely confident of what he can do. He would have to fight the fight of his life and I think he can do it. The big worry is getting hit by a Klitschko bomb, but Gomez doesn't have as bad a chin as some would think.

It will be interesting to see what kind of odds this fight gets.

If Gomez can keep himself off the blow, he might put up a good fight.

But he just LOVES to party - blond German girls and coke!

Boy, this one's tough. The guy that just pummeled Sam Peter or the guy who got KO'd by Yanqui Diaz...

                    Hmmm
