I wanted Taylor to win that fight, but that was a great stoppage... Don't know how anyone could think other wise. I ain't going to blow smoke up anyones ass but I lost a bit of respect from Taylor when he lost to Pavlik. I picked him to beat Pavlik in the first fight, then I picked him in the second fight to beat Pavlik. And you know the story from there, I felt like Taylor had all the tools to beat Pavlik. I guess I was completely wrong, btw I can't wait for Taylor/Lacy even if Taylor destroys Lacy. I like Lacy more then Taylor though. But I like both.

Was Taylor-Pavlik 1 a quick stoppage?

I thought so when I was watching it live, but I always hate to see a fight stopped.
That stoppage was at least as good as Castillo-Corrales I, which was a good stoppage itself. In both cases the guy gets completely knocked out, unconscious. There's no need for counts in those cases.

If there had been a count I don’t think Taylor would have beaten it. As someone in the forum wrote (or was it an article?) Taylor looked like a drunk 13 year old at 3:00 am.

Rob couldn't have gone on to win his bout but Jermaine certainly could have taken a knee and pulled out a better result.
Don't focus on the stoppage focus on the lack of mental awareness that JT had.
I don't think it's fair to criticize him for a lack of mental awareness when it's more of an experience issue. Not to mention his mental awareness isn't going to be too good when he's getting his head smashed in by Pavlik.

after the first KD if he get up, its just a matter of time until he will get KD again. 8 seconds is not enough to restore his balance and mind set to fight.
