You can throw 20 mil in the banking system and live off the interest. You can put a few million in stocks and a few million in realestate and forget about everything. 11 children you could have a baseball roster if you want if you place your investments you should never have to worry about money....Lefty
I have no sympathy for him, ...?BUT.......all the monetary awards and agreements with the mothers of these kids were made when he was "riding high" [no pun meant], on the hog, and was earning multi-millions.

When his earning capacity slows or disappears, as it seems to have done now, permanently I think, then he should have been applying to the courts for relief, and re-negotiated payments. If any of his women are working, thjey likely make more now than he does-whioch is not only nothing , but he has to keep up the large expense of being Evander Holyfield.

Look what poor old Tyson had to go through before the reality of the situation actually hit him and stopped his "Tysonish" behaviour in his tracks......

A problem is, that when he owns a 104 room mansion, with hundreds of attached acres, it's difficult for him to play the "poormouth" and get any relief. Although I think that he's mortgaged up to the eyeballs with that property too. Didn't he have the Sherif after hjim for mortgage payments some months back??

I think he needs financial counselling, but from what I've seen of him on TV he's too stubborn to ask anyone, and is his own worst enemy.......

I don't think that this is universally true. I think it depends on the "smarts" a guy has.

I arrived in Canada in the middle of a depression, with about $100, most of which I blew in on Jukeboxes, which I'd never seen before. When I had nothing, which was very quickly, and couldn't get any kind of a job,.................. I.............

I'd written a condensed account of my life in Canada and other countries, but realised, just in time, that no one would be interested, since this is a boxing site, and erased it.

My point is, that Holyfield had enough intelligence to make advantageous contracts, not only in boxing, but with multi-million dollar endorsements too, so he has only himself to blame.

I can't help wondering if Don King is hidden in the woodwork here somewhere along the way................

I don't know, but it seems rather like the result of one of his piratical forays.

Tyson filed BK, but he got fined for having too many people partying on his yaht off the coast of Italy. Evander is broke and he won't be eating those 200$ steaks he likes, but he'll never be a nine to five 100k a year guy either. He can do autograph signings and speaking engagments and make at leat 300-600k a year. People always talk about how sad it is to see pete rose signing at Vegas, but the guy makes at least a couple of grand a day minmum.
Hell Most of us would do that and love it.
