This is where Religion ****s you.... "god's will for me to have 11 kids and be a broke ass man...."Comment

Dude, you talkin out the side of your neck now. Don't blame God or Christianity for this. I love Holyfield but a few of those kids were conceived out of wedlock or while he was married to someone else. He loves sex no doubt and now he is paying (literally) for past sins. Your blame is misplaced.Comment

Besides being a post that I couldn't agree with more, it also begs the question "Just what happened to almost $248,0000?" (I hope that number is 248 million....but I don't know if the zeros are right or not. 248 million is what I meant. I don't even know how to spell that!
How can anyone go thru that kind of money in only a few years? Larry Holmes made less than Evander in his career and he is hundreds of times better off financially than Evander. Holmes grandkids will be set up. What does Evander have left to show for a couple hundred million $???
Him and Tyson made the most money in boxing and they're bankrupt. I just can't understand that.
This is messed up.Last edited by Terry A; 10-14-2008, 09:50 AM.Comment

Dude when you grossed over 248mil in your carrer and you hav a son you think he doesn't deserve 3k a month to live. Deserve to go to private school? For crying out loud you made over 248mil. You can throw 20 mil in the banking system and live off the interest. You can put a few million in stocks and a few million in realestate and forget about everything. 11 children you could have a baseball roster if you want if you place your investments you should never have to worry about money....LeftyComment

think about it guys. your getting ****load of money and you have nothing growing up - of course your going to spend it crazy. not everyone is as smart to save up or invest. they think "i gotta have this!" and make decisions they pay for. but really 248million, and you going to buy 104 rooms? me? i buy a nice houses with 13 rooms max. i guess 104 rooms is for when his kids decide to multiply too, lol. but really - this is sad. he should be relaxing doing commericals, not stressing.Comment

The sanctioning bodies should be forced to provide some sort of retirement plan for fighters. They take their money for their entire careers, and when they're washed up, they couldn't give a **** less. I HATE sanctioning bodies.Comment

Sad such a great fighter, and now is fighting on for money, he should of learnt from all the other greats who have ended up with nothing and fought for money.Comment

I don't know about other states but here in California they don't go by what the child needs. They go by how much money the father is making......so, the more you make the more you pay. I know because when I got divorced I had to shell out 1500 bucks a month for one kid.....and ain't nobody gonna tell me that my ex wife didn't spend most of that money on herself. Now about Holyfield.............11 kids? Damn Holy....haven't you heard of condoms? And plus I saw the big ass mansion Holyfield lives in in Atlanta. The front gate is located about a mile or so from the mansion....and lots of land. What he should have done is paid cash for that mansion....hell, he could have afforded to pay cash at that time. I can't ever imagine how much the insurance and the taxes are. I have no sympathy for Holyfield. He's another example of fighters who make millions and lose millions because of poor investments and other ****** things. Like Joe Louis and Sugar Ray Robinson.....both made millions and died paupers. Like Mike Tyson who will probably die a pauper. But there are exceptions....one of who is Sugar Ray Leonard, who got out of the game a rich man and made good investments. And I'm proud of Floyd Mayweather who retired young, and undefeated and rich. Here's hoping he doesn't blow it.Comment
