After Sam Peter quit, a reminder of a real warrior...

I have to wonder how history will treat Sam Peter 3-4 years from now ^

a bit annoying to see a thread on east side

comparing Brewster's corner retiring vs Wlad to Peter's vs Vitali.

Brewster (and this is no knock against him) didn't really deserve that title crack at Wlad, it was just a hyped fight for Wlad to avenge an earlier defeat

where Peter was a champion in his first title defense.

Sam Peter is another Tua.....

Time for him to fight nothing but club fighters on a fairly regular basis and then complain that no title shot is coming

I remember after Wlad he took on Audley Harrison's fourth pro opponent (Julius Long) to rebuild his stock.

Actually, I'm one of them.

But it wasn't one-sided like Peter's fight, and his subsequent KOs certainly made him a fun champion to watch, even if he's not as skilled as say a Klitschko

Here's what happened when Danny fought Kali Meehan. However, it was reffed by Terry "world's most impartial ref" O'Connor:

Danny Williams has courage, Sam Peter does not.

Danny took a worse beating in his fight with Vitali, and doesn't have as good of a chin as Peter. He was badly hurt and on the canvas for the 4th time when the ref finally stopped it.

Tua had a lot more potential than Sam Peter. Both Peter's power and chin have been overrated, and it looks like he lacks heart, too. Tua's only problem was his lack of boxing fundamentals. But as far as power, chin, accuracy, handspeed, heart and stamina are concerned, Tua was much better. I don't know why Peter was ever so highly regarded anyway. The guy was only ever a clubber, with slightly improved boxing skills in more recent fights. He was just lucky to get fights over faded fighters.
