The Ali vs. Liston fight has nothing to do with the Vitali vs. Byrd fight anyway. You're using a somewhat clever but unfair and illogical argument to discredit a European fighter, as you often do.

The fact is that Vitali was easily winning the fight with Byrd, until he injured himself. Although it goes into the record books as a Byrd win, it had nothing to do with anything Byrd had done.

Liston was stopped against Ali when he retired in his corner claiming a shoulder injury at the end of round 6.

Vitali was stopped against Byrd when he retired in his corner claiming a shoulder injury at the end of round 9.

Having your face taken off constitutes a technical knockout. And it's not like the fight was going Klitschko's way at the time of the stoppage, he lost the 6th round very clearly when the fight was stopped.
